Dubai Frame and Public Parks Draw Tens of Thousands for New Year’s Eve Celebrations
Dubai ushered in 2026 with spectacular city-wide celebrations, attracting approximately 39,000 visitors to its iconic Dubai Frame and public parks on New Year's Eve, according to Dubai Municipality.
Dubai Frame: A New Focal Point
The 150-metre tall Dubai Frame became a central celebration hub, featuring its first-ever dedicated drone display alongside the traditional midnight fireworks. This innovative show offered breathtaking views and symbolized the expansion of festivities beyond the Burj Khalifa district.
Extended Park Hours for Family-Friendly Celebrations
To accommodate the surge in visitors and provide relaxed viewing options, Dubai Municipality extended operating hours at 14 major public parks—including Al Safa Park, Zabeel Park, Creek Park, and Mushrif National Park—with many staying open until 1 a.m. This initiative successfully decentralized the celebrations, offering families safe and scenic spots to enjoy the night with picnics and gatherings away from the densest crowds.
A City-Wide Celebration
The events at Dubai Frame and the parks were part of a broader, multi-venue celebration strategy across more than 40 locations. Fireworks, laser shows, and drone formations lit up venues from Global Village and Bluewaters Island to Expo City, ensuring inclusive access for all communities. This approach allowed residents and tourists to choose from a variety of family-friendly and accessible celebration points.
Safety and Coordination
Authorities ensured a smooth experience through coordinated public safety measures and enhanced transportation, including phased road closures and extended metro and bus services. Designated viewing areas, food stalls, and amenities in parks contributed to a comfortable and secure environment for all attendees.
