Indian Air Force Soars into Dubai Airshow 2025 with Tejas and Suryakiran Team

The Indian Air Force (IAF) is poised to make a powerful statement at the prestigious Dubai Airshow 2025, showcasing the nation's growing aerospace prowess and ambition to become a global defence partner. Scheduled for November 17-21 at Al Maktoum Airbase, the event will see India present a dual display of aerial excellence and industrial might, headlined by the indigenously developed LCA Tejas fighter and the precision-flying Suryakiran Aerobatic Team.

Aerial Display: Tejas and Suryakiran Take Center Stage

India's participation is spearheaded by a high-level delegation led by Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth. The IAF's aerial contingent has already arrived in the UAE, generating significant anticipation.

The two main attractions in the sky will be:

LCA Tejas: The star of the show, this light combat aircraft is a testament to India's self-reliance in defence technology. Its display at Dubai Airshow 2025 serves as a live demonstration of its capabilities to a global audience of air forces and potential buyers, reinforcing its position as a credible fighter jet in the international market.

Suryakiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT): Renowned for their breathtaking formation flying and precise maneuvers, the Suryakiran team will paint the sky with the tricolor. Their performance is a powerful tool of "soft power," showcasing the skill and discipline of the Indian Air Force.

India Pavilion: A Showcase of Defence Manufacturing Prowess

Beyond the flight line, India is making a significant mark on the ground. Minister Seth will inaugurate the India Pavilion, a consolidated display of the country's defence-industrial capabilities. The pavilion will feature a robust lineup of 19 leading Indian companies and 15 innovative startups.

Key participants include:

  • Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL)
  • Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO)
  • BrahMos Aerospace
  • Bharat Forge
  • Tech Mahindra

This diverse representation highlights the depth of India's defence manufacturing ecosystem, from established giants to agile startups, all ready for international collaboration.

Strategic Engagements: Fostering Global Partnerships

The airshow serves as a critical platform for high-level diplomacy and business development. Minister Seth is scheduled to hold a pivotal bilateral meeting with his UAE counterpart to strengthen defence ties between the two nations.

Furthermore, he will lead an industry round-table discussion with around 50 companies from key countries, including the UAE, USA, UK, Australia, Brazil, and Italy. The focus will be on enhancing collaboration in defence manufacturing, technology transfer, and boosting production under India's 'Make in India' initiative.

A Strategic Push for 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'

India's prominent presence at the Dubai Airshow 2025 is a strategic move with multiple objectives. It is more than an exhibition; it is a declaration of intent. By showcasing the Tejas, India is marketing its flagship fighter jet to the lucrative Middle Eastern and global markets. The participation of DRDO, HAL, and private firms signals India's readiness to integrate into global defence supply chains.

This effort aligns perfectly with the Indian government's vision of an 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' (Self-Reliant India) in defence. The event provides a world-class stage to prove that India is not just a defence importer but an emerging innovator and manufacturer, capable of designing, building, and exporting cutting-edge military technology.

In essence, India is leveraging the Dubai Airshow to send a clear message: it is a serious and capable player in the global aerospace and defence arena, open for business and ready to partner.
